Things to Do

An Art Lover’s Guide

The art scene in Dallas South is nothing if not diverse. Its world-class museums, vibrant galleries, and presentations of both classic works and experimental projects make it a perfect destination for art enthusiasts. Here’s a list of some of the best ones to to soak up all it has to offer artistically and still have time for dessert!

The Ellis County Art Association

We love to see the annual exhibitions produced annually at the Ellis County Art Association. They also offer a painting space where members are welcomed to paint in the classroom anytime during regular business hours. If you’re interested in learning something new, the association hosts at least 2 workshops in traditional painting or sculpture disciplines annually with “high-profile” instructors.

Current programs at the Arts Center include The Grand Prairie Festival of the Arts, The Lions Peace Poster Contest, Summer Art Camp, After School, Weekend Classes and Community Outreach.
